WOLONG'S GIANT PANDAS

Currently, it is estimated that approximately 1600 giant Pandas live in the wild (roughly 500 wild Pandas live in the World Heritage Site that includes and surrounds Wolong), and another 400 Pandas live in captivity. The Wolong Panda reintroduction program can only be successful if we conserve forests and ensure these released Pandas will have a wild home in which to live.
